Krishi Vigyan Kendra is sponsored scheme of Indian Council of Agriculture Research, New Delhi. This KVK scheme is being operated in most of the districts of India. Each district will have at least one KVK. In Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh, KVK started functioning in 1989 under an NGO - Shri Hanumantharaya Educational  & Charitable Society, Sanjamala, from Yagantipalle of Banaganapalle mandal. 

The mandated activities of KVK are :
1. Assessment of agricultural technologies emanated from National Agricultural Research System and Refinement of the same to suit to the local farming situations.
2. Demonstrating latest proven technologies in villages for its wider adoption by the farmers.
3. Training farmers, agriculture extension workers and rural youth.
4. Imparting Vocational Training to Rural youth and hand holding for establishing rural enterprises.
